About this event

After Windrush, can the Home Office be fixed, and does the Government want to fix it?

Amelia Gentleman is the award-winning investigative journalist behind the Windrush exposé. In this special virtual event, Gentleman will discuss her conversations with Windrush generation immigrants, and the Home Office’s slow response in the years since the scandal.

The lecture will be followed by a discussion with David Lammy, MP for Tottenham and Shadow Secretary of State for Justice. Mr Lammy has campaigned for justice for those affected by the scandal, and is a prominent voice on the issue in Parliament and internationally.

The event will be chaired by Deborah Mabbett, Co-Editor of The Political Quarterly and Professor of Public Policy in the Department of Politics at Birkbeck.

We hope you can join us for this special virtual event.
